The State Government has recently announced a second wave of Small Business Lockdown Assistance Grants to support small businesses who were impacted by the recent COVID-19 lockdown.

The grants follow the original Lockdown Assistance Grant offered in May this year, which provided cashflow support to small businesses impacted by sudden circuit-breaker lockdowns.

Small businesses who operate in industries most impacted by the recent four-day lockdown will be able to apply for a $3000 grant to cover some losses that occurred as a direct result of the lockdown. These businesses will span industries such as hospitality, tourism, catering, fitness, beauty, performing arts and more.

It is estimated that approximately 15,400 businesses in the Perth and Peel region will be eligible for the grant. Some regional businesses will also be able to access the grant, as it is acknowledged that approximately 2300 businesses would have likely lost tourism revenue with a lockdown so close to the school holidays.

The grant program has yet to open, but you can start preparing for your application on the Small Business Development Corporation’s website. By registering your details on their website, you will be notified as soon as more information is released.
