Supply Chain Support
Healthy local supply chains help to underpin sustainable local economies. Business Foundations works with both individual businesses and governments and large corporations to improve local participation in supply chains in a sustainable way.
We support businesses of all sizes with their supply chain development, whether they are multi-nationals looking to fulfill local content obligations, or small businesses looking to receive a regular income stream by joining a larger business’ supply chain.
Joining The Supply Chains of Large Organisations and Governments
Becoming part of a major supply chain can provide small businesses with long-term, well-paying contracts, but without careful preparation and planning it can also overwhelm a small business. We work with businesses to focus on capacity building and the tendering process, where we empower them to join supply chains and ensure they are up to the skill and managerial standards of the larger organisation or government’s expectations. Opportunities to join the supply chains of governments and other businesses can diversify income streams for SMEs and secure their long-term viability.
Reaching Local Content Targets
Many supply chains have local content targets to ensure equitable opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses. Business Foundations can support governments and corporations in finding and upskilling suitable small businesses to join their supply chain and fulfil their local content obligations. We can draw on our existing relationships with small business communities, local government authorities, chambers of commerce, or businesses identified by the client, to identify and upskill potential businesses.
Achieving Environmental Social Governance In Supply Chains
Business Foundations is committed to helping other businesses achieve decarbonisation and participate in a circular economy. We are certified in the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Accounting and Reporting Standard, and can support businesses in quantifying their carbon foot print and finding ways to reduce it in their activities and supply chains.
How We Have Helped
Chevron
Business Foundations has previously partnered with Chevron in Onslow and Karratha to work with Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers to improve their managerial capabilities. By working within the specific frameworks of Chevron’s contractual requirements, suppliers were informed of ways to improve that can increase their opportunities for long-term contracts in Chevron’s Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects.
City of Canning
Business Foundations has been engaged to lead the Canning Decarbonisation Project alongside two other organisations, to understand the barriers and enables for change in the practices of individual businesses within the Local Government Area. Our work will help the City understand how they can help commercial supply chains to work together to achieve a net-zero outcome.
City of Rockingham
The marine defence industry is a major economic contributor to the City of Rockingham. We have been engaged on multiple occasions to run a series of workshops that build capacity in local businesses so they could join the defence supply chain. We collaborated with the City and the Department of Defence and Prime Contractors to create a relevant workshop suite that focused on procurement and business management.
