Business Foundations is a provider of SBDC Regional services in East Kimberley and West Kimberley. These services are free and funded by the Government of Western Australia through the Small Business Development Corporation.

This service provides small business owners in the Kimberley with access to free advisory sessions and workshops to start, grow and manage their business.

If you are a business owner in the West Kimberley or East Kimberley region, our local advisor Kris Young can be the expert in your corner to assist in the ups and downs that come with running a business – free of charge courtesy of funding by the State Government through the Small Business Development Corporation.

SBDC Regional provides access to fully subsidised, professional advice tailored to prospective and existing small business owners, on topics including:

• Assessing new business ideas
• Steps to starting a business
• Business licences and permits
• Business planning
• Market research
• Financial management
• Marketing

SBDC Regional services are funded by the Government of Western Australia through the Small Business Development Corporation.

Meet Your Advisor – Kris Young

Kris Young has been a Kimberley local for over 25 years, and has over 20 years of experience in developing small businesses.

For the last five years, he has worked as a small business coach in Broome to provide individualised support across a range of industries, including tourism, hospitality, trades, and civil construction.

Kris works with business owners to start and grow revenue, assets and employment. He assists businesses to access funding opportunities through Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), government grants and funding, and trust grants.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning) – RMIT
