Another Successful Program Helping Small Businesses: Amplify
September 1, 2022
We have just concluded the Amplify Marketing and Digital Skills Program sponsored by the City of Cockburn.
The local government area is on the cusp of significant government and industry investment, and for SMEs to benefit from this, there was an identified need for growing the marketing capabilities of local small business owners.
Designed to be practical and hands on, we delivered eight workshops over four weeks that helped eight business owners improve at every stage of their customer journey.
We received a large number of applications from interested businesses owners that operate in the City of Cockburn. The successful applicants were:
- Aaron Norrish – Disability Services Management
- Stacey Cole – Consolidated Group
- Jefrina Yeo – Two Lazy Cows
- Danielle Passmore – Nourish Counselling
- Karen Peradon-Alaga – Wild, Wise and Worthy Mentoring Circles
- Veronica Turner – Vee’s Cakes and Hire
- Tennile Caruana – Maltia Café
- Karri Penley – Karri Colours and Styles
The workshops were broken up into two half-day workshops for one day a week, for four weeks. We covered a range of topics including a business deep dive, marketing and digital audit, branding for digital marketing, copywriting, e-newsletters and building a database, social media planning, website fundamentals and creating graphics with Canva.
These were each delivered by presenters with a wealth of knowledge and experience in their field and the challenges that small business owners face.
Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting that the workshop series covered more than they expected. Here is what three of our participants had to say about the program:
“Amplify gave me the knowledge, tools and strategies to move forward in the aspects of marketing I had resistance to.”
“How fabulous to have a group of experts invest in us and our emerging businesses… thank you! I’d love to do more.”
“I think this an excellent program and anyone thinking of starting a business should have access to it. There was so much information that is unknown and I feel a lot more comfortable moving forward with the next part of our business and my career because of this program!!! “Knowledge is power, how to use that knowledge correctly is even more powerful.”
We would like to thank the City of Cockburn and the Amplify participants for their contribution to the successful program. Business Foundations hopes to deliver another Amplify program in the future, so we urge any business owners who are interested in getting involved to keep an eye on our newsletters.
