Phillip is an industry expert in the field of small business development, holding a number of key positions on national boards and associations regarding business incubation.He has been published widely on SME and micro-business development, and has conducted research on the provision of SME and micro-enterprise advisory and support services. Phillip has a passion for working with people who are starting a business, growing their company, being innovative, looking to export, changing the status quo, or making the world a better place.

Susan is a corporate affairs and business management professional with a breadth of experience across multiple countries and industries. She has spent many years in leadership roles as part of senior leadership teams, and specialising in strategic corporate affairs  issues as well as developing communications, local content and government relations strategies. Susan has expertise in solving complex problems and engaging with stakeholders to develop a good result for every party.

Kris Young has been a Kimberley local for over 25 years, and has over 20 years of experience in developing small businesses.

For the last five years, he has worked as a small business coach in Broome to provide individualised support across a range of industries, including tourism, hospitality, trades, and civil construction.

Kris works with business owners to start and grow revenue, assets and employment. He assists businesses to access funding opportunities through Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), government grants and funding, and trust grants.

Carmelina is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Business Advisor/ Mentor with extensive experience working with businesses across a range of industry sectors.

She has experience in financial management, strategic planning, governance, and business performance improvement.

Zoe has a background as a digital literacy specialist in education, leading transformative projects integrating AI, immersive technologies and developing Learning Management Systems (LMS). Having run two small businesses in the past, she has a unique perspective on the challenges faced by small business owners. Zoe leverages her wealth of knowledge and experience to empower small businesses, bridging the gap between digital tools and business success.

Joseph’s diverse career spans healthcare, XR, interactive technology, and creative brand experience. Beginning in graphic design, he transitioned to running his own branding studio, working with international brands, and later held in-house strategic roles. Joseph employs a holistic approach, emphasising meaningful relationships and ethical technology use to help businesses to optimise their use of digital tools and succeed in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Nicola is an experienced business trainer and assessor who has delivered business advice, training and qualifications across a number of RTOs. As our Self-Employment Assistance Program Manager, Nicola delivers our Self-Employment Assistance training and oversees program administration. Nicola’s business knowledge and passion for small business owners provides for engaging lectures where she facilitates thought-provoking discussions. She is particularly skilled in marketing management and communications and has helped countless businesses reach their goals.
